Client Lounge
Hey there!
Thank you so much for trusting me with your photo session! My number one goal as your photographer is to provide you with a fun and relaxed experience while you are in front of my lens. There is no stress about things going any certain way, because each person and family that I photograph is so different. This online space is meant to help you prepare for your session, so that you know exactly what to expect. So let’s do it- let's make some magic!

Your In-Home Family Portrait Session
Your In-Home Family Portrait Session
So you booked your session. Yay! Let’s go over what comes next.
Make sure to fill out my “In Home Family Portrait Session Pre-Session Questionnaire ”
After you’ve completed your booking, I’ll send an email with a short pre-session questionnaire. Taking a few minutes to fill it out helps me get to know your family better and shape our session to reflect your vision. Your answers will guide me in capturing the moments that matter most to you.
Preparing Your Home
No need to deep clean — I promise! The goal is to capture your family as you are, in your real environment. A quick tidy-up in the spaces we’ll be using (like the living room, master bedroom, or nursery) is plenty.
I’ll be looking for the best natural light in your home when I arrive, so we may move around as needed. If you’re unsure which rooms will work best, don’t worry — I’ll guide you when I get there.
What to Wear
Comfort is key, especially for new parents. Choose clothes that feel good and allow you to move and snuggle easily. Soft, neutral tones and simple patterns tend to photograph beautifully indoors, but ultimately, wear what feels like you.
For babies, I recommend keeping outfits simple — a plain onesie or even just a diaper with a cozy blanket can make for timeless images.
What to Expect During Our Session
My goal is to capture your family just as you are — the tiny details, the tender moments, and the beautiful chaos of life with a newborn.
We’ll spend most of our time documenting natural interactions: snuggling on the bed, feeding, rocking, or simply being together. While I’ll guide you gently when needed, these sessions are meant to feel slow and relaxed, not rushed.
If older siblings are joining, I’ll incorporate them in a fun, natural way so they feel included (and get their own special moments with the baby too).
Length of the Session
In-home newborn sessions are typically about 1.5–2 hours. This gives us plenty of time for feeding, changing, and breaks without feeling rushed.
A Note About Timing
I usually recommend late morning (between 10am–12pm) because that’s when most homes have the best natural light, but I’m happy to adjust to your family’s routine if needed.
Final Details & Confirmation
Once you’ve completed your questionnaire, I’ll follow up to confirm all the details for our session and answer any last-minute questions you may have.
I can’t wait to document these first precious weeks with your little one!
If you have any questions at all — about your home, outfits, or how to prepare — don’t hesitate to reach out.
